Do Tulku Rinpoche: The Three Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism
February 19 @ 10:30 am - February 23 @ 5:00 pm

In-Person at E-Vam Institute & Online
E-Vam Institute is pleased to announce the visit of Do Tulku Rinpoche to Melbourne.
Since 2021, Rinpoche has been a regular in the E-Vam Institute teaching program, offering an annual online teaching on The Way of the Bodhisattva.
We are now fortunate to be able to host Rinpoche in-person at E-Vam Institute, where Rinpoche will present a comprehensive series of teachings on The Three Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism.
The Three Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism
Taking a holistic approach, Tibetan Buddhism incorporates a variety of practices and philosophical thought from the Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions. Building upon each other, the Three Yanas (or spiritual vehicles) are a complete path to reduce suffering and achieve liberation. That is, the Three Yanas provide the means to transport us from samsara to nirvana.
Teaching Schedule
Part One: The Four Noble Truths – Entering the Buddhist Path
Wednesday, 19th February
⏰ 7:30–9:00 PM AEST
The Hinayana, or Foundational Vehicle, provides the necessary groundwork for all Buddhist practice, emphasizing self-discipline, mindfulness, and direct realization of impermanence, suffering, and non-self.
Rinpoche will explore the Four Noble Truths as presented in the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta (The Sūtra of the Wheel of Dharma), the heart of the Buddha’s teachings. This teaching explains the nature of suffering, its causes, its cessation, and the path to liberation.
Part Two: The Fearless Bodhisattva – Utilizing Courage on the Path
Saturday, 22nd February
⏰ Session 1: 10:30 AM–12:00 PM | Session 2: 2:30–4:00 PM | Bodhisattva Vow: 4:30–5:30 PM (approx.)
The Mahayana Vehicle builds upon the Hinayana path of individual liberation, cultivating our potential for boundless compassion and wisdom. Practitioners follow the Bodhisattva ideal, striving for enlightenment to benefit all beings.
After these teachings, we are fortunate to receive the Bodhisattva Vow, which Rinpoche will bestow in the afternoon.
Part Three: The Vision of Vajrayana – Insights on the Path of Transformation
Sunday, 23rd February
⏰ Session 1: 10:30 AM–12:00 PM | Session 2: 2:30–4:00 PM | Puja (TBC): 4:30–5:30 PM (approx.)
The Vajrayana Vehicle extends beyond Mahayana, applying transformative methods such as mantra, visualization, and ritual to attain realization. It is known as a swift path, revealing the inherent purity and awakened nature of all experience.
Rinpoche will conclude the teaching series with a Vajrayana practice (puja) on Sunday afternoon.
Complete Teaching Series or Individual Sessions
You are encouraged to register for the complete teaching series to receive a full overview of the Three Yanas as a complete path. However, each teaching is also stand-alone, so you are welcome to attend individual sessions based on your interests.
We hope you can join us for this special opportunity.
About Do Tulku Rinpoche
Do Tulku Rinpoche is the resident lama and spiritual guide of Arya Tara’s Net. Recognized at the age of 17 by H.H.
