Easter Retreat at Maitripa Centre

April 1 @ 7:30 pm - April 5 @ 3:30 pm

* Meditation * Philosophy * Yoga *
1 – 5 April

at Maitripa Centre, Healesville

If we’re going to benefit from the practice, we need to place ourselves in an environment that supports our spiritual goals

Traleg Kyabgon. (The Practice of Lojong: Cultivating compassion through training the mind, p. 211).

E-Vam Institute’s annual retreat is suitable for all levels of students and is a wonderful opportunity to deepen one’s practice. The daily program includes recorded teachings by Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX, Indo-Tibetan yoga and Pranayama sessions, shamatha and walking meditation and traditional ritual puja (chanting & singing) practices of Green Tara and Chenrezig.

Since the time of the Buddha, there has been a strong tradition among Buddhists of periods of retreat for practice, study and reflection. Retreat is valued as a time to step away from our daily life of distractions and obstacles, to be in a supportive and focused environment for an extended period of time.  Upholding the retreat format as provided by Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX, the Annual Easter Retreat includes structured time for Green Tara and Chenrezig pujas, meditation, teachings, and yoga. Whether new to Buddhism or an experienced practitioner, the retreat environment is an essential support on the Path.

Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX Teachings at the Easter Retreat: Karma and Rebirth
Video recordings from the Easter Retreat 2010.

These teachings formed the basis of Rinpoche’s book Karma: What it is, what it isn’t, why it matters (Shambhala Publications: 2015).

Please join us for this precious opportunity to hear and see Rinpoche explain how central karma is to Buddhism and to our lives.

The Maitripa Centre, established by Traleg Rinpochem, provides a tranquil and uplifting practice environment. A minimum of two days of commitment is required. Maitripa Centre maintains COVID-safety regulations. Participants are capped at 30.
