Retreat with the Venerable Meditation Master
Drupon Rinchen Tsering
E-Vam Institute is deeply honoured to welcome the visit of Retreat Master, the Venerable Drupon Rinchen Tsering visiting E-Vam Institute for one month in August. Drupon-la is a senior Kagyu meditation master, long-time retreat guide at Yushu Thrangu Monastery, and the appointed teacher of the 10th Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche. (See full Bio below)
Special Opportunity for Retreat led With Drupon-la
Included in this special visit is a rare opportunity to receive teachings in retreat with Drupon-la. For sincere practitioners, the opportunity to receive direct guidance from a Tibetan Retreat Master of this experience and calibre is especially precious.
Drupon-la will teach traditional practices from the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
The Retreat is suitable for:
- Those who wish to undertake the preliminary practices (Ngondro)
- For those who are currently undertaking Ngondro
- For those who have completed Ngondro
1. Those who wish to undertake the preliminary practices (Ngondro)
For those who sincerely wish to undertake the preliminary practices (Ngondro), this retreat offers a valuable opportunity to begin these practices under Drupon-la’s guidance. Participants in this category should already have been involved in Buddhist practice for some time, have an established regular practice, and have been receiving teachings and deepening their understanding of Buddhism. During the retreat, they will have the opportunity to receive the relevant oral transmission (lung) and permission from Drupon-la to begin these practices.
2. For those who are currently undertaking Ngondro
For those who have embarked on the preliminary practices (Ngondro), this retreat offers a valuable opportunity to deepen refuge, Vajrasattva, mandala and guru yoga with Drupon-la’s guidance. Participants should already have received the relevant oral transmission (lung) prior to the retreat. The retreat will be an excellent opportunity to progress these practices with guidance from Drupon-la.
3. For those who have completed Ngondro
For those who have completed their preliminary practices (Ngondro), Drupon-la will give instructions and guidance on the Vajrayana practices of Marpa, Milarepa and Gampopa from the Kagyu school.

The cost of retreat includes all teachings, meditation sessions and other sessions, comfortable accommodation, catered vegetarian meals and snacks.
