About the teachings:
In Buddhism, the metaphor of the “traveler on the path” provides a potent way to understand one’s journey as a spiritual practitioner. In these Teachings, presented at the Buddhist Summer School in 2003, Rinpoche explains how we can embrace the nature of the journey along the Buddhist spiritual path. Drawing on both Buddhist and Western traditions, Rinpoche provides inspiration to truly appreciate the spiritual path as “a journey”- Moving from what is familiar, through uncertainty and difficulties that we face, to reach the goal, of “becoming an awakened being”.
Teachings cover:
– What the beginning, middle and end of the spiritual path are in Buddhism.
– What risks we might face along the spiritual path.
– How we work with goals along the way.
The Evening and Day of Teachings and Practice is a quarterly series that includes meditation sessions (and instruction) with and teachings from Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX. Please join us in this opportunity to practice and learn together.
Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX was enthroned as the Supreme Abbot of Trangu Monastery and underwent rigorous scholastic and meditation training under various Kagyu and Nyingma masters before coming to Australia in 1980. Traleg Rinpoche passed away on 24 July 2012 however Rinpoche’s legacy lives on in his centres and projects established worldwide. Full bio here.
