Annual Easter Retreat 2023
April 6, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - April 10, 2023 @ 4:00 pm
ANNUAL EASTER RETREAT
Thursday Evening 6 April at 7:30 pm to Monday afternoon 10 April, 2023
at Maitripa Centre, Healesville & Online
“Instead of putting trust in one’s normal everyday objects of security and refuge, there is no refuge compared to Guru Padmasambhava.”
– Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IV
In all traditions of Buddhism, taking time for retreat away from the usual distractions and
one’s routine, enriches one’s practice and can build confidence in meditation. Upholding the retreat schedule provided by Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX, E-Vam Institute retreats include structured time for Green Tara and Chenrezig pujas, yoga, meditation, and teachings.
The teachings in this retreat are Traleg Rinpoche’s commentary of the “White Lotus: An explanation of the Seven-Line Prayer to Guru Padmasambhava” by Jamgon Mipham.
Guru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche is a central figure in Tibetan Buddhism; for many
Westerners he can be a mystifying figure, how should we understand him? In these
teachings, Traleg Rinpoche elucidates both the context in which to appreciate Guru
Rinpoche and the multi-layered levels of meaning that make reciting the prayer a
meaningful practice in its own right. If you want to understand Tibetan (Vajrayana)
Buddhism, this prayer is essential.
Whether new to Buddhism or an experienced practitioner, the retreat environment is an essential support on the Path.
The 2023 Easter Retreat will be a hybrid event which means you can attend the retreat either in-person at Maitripa Centre or online.
In-person at Maitripa Centre – Come and enjoy the retreat surrounded by the beautiful lush Toolangi forest amongst the upper Yarra Valley, with a stunning array of wildlife surrounding the centre. You will have the option to do a full or partial retreat (minimum 2 days).
