We are honoured to welcome Ani Jangchub Lhamo to E-Vam Institute all the way from New Zealand for this special event. Ani Jangchub Lhamo has cared for Traleg Rinpoche’s Centre, Nyima Tashi Buddhist Centre in Auckland since its inception in 2004.

In this talk Ani La will reflect on and describe Traleg Rinpoche’s unique approach to sharing the Dharma. She will also discuss the essence of the Teacher-student relationship.

It is difficult to speak about one’s Teacher without also examining the role that we play as students. When we enter into this relationship it should be with eyes wide open. The Teacher-student relationship is not dissimilar to a contract, we are making an agreement not in a passive, superficial manner, but it is an agreement to step out of one’s comfort zone warts and all, with all of our messy, deceptive, attention seeking attachment in order to utilize this relationship as a catalyst for growth.

The 9th Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche on four separate occasions asked that when I have time, would I make the journey to his Centers and speak about Nyima Tashi, Rinpoche’s last request to visit His Centers was made five weeks before he passed.
